\r\n\r\nToday I would like to tell you my story of love for the film art \u2013 the most magical form of art. Way back in the days of my youth, films by Andrzej \u017bu\u0142awski produced the first and strongest impression on me. I was shocked. After analyzing, I realized that the director in his own way demonstrates problems of the relationship between a man and a woman.<\/p>\r\n
The film world turned out to be so exciting that it awakened the best feelings and aspirations and encouraged me to be creative.<\/p>\r\n
As long as I remember myself I have been passionate about the film art and it has left its traces on my activity, formed my artistic taste, sensibilities.<\/p>\r\n
The film art reveals the director’s intellectual and emotional world. I realized that the film art is one of the opportunities to immortalize a person, human life in all its diversity. And it makes it possible that it doesn\u2019t fall into oblivion. Human creativity is not without reason. It captures the human soul and mind.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
“What we keep for ourselves, we keep that in vain,\r\nIf we are not there, it will vanish into air,\r\nWhat we keep for everyone, just that will remain,\r\nIt will not be gone with us and will be retained!”<\/blockquote><\/p>\r\n\r\nThese words by Rabindranath Tagore prove this idea.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Directing is magnetically attractive to me. It is probably the most complicated constituent in the film art. I care deeply about directing because it requires the maximum of both intellectual and emotional potential as well as encourages self-improvement. And Friedrich Hebbel stated, “Life is an infinite perfection”. But I will supplement this sententia with the words of Gerhart Hauptmann: “Life is an unbroken chain of discoveries”.<\/p>\r\n
I have come to an understanding of the need to tell the world my life concept and capture it in an artistic form by making my first short film. To tell the world about my feelings, experiences, thoughts because if “science is the memory of the mind, then art is the memory of feelings”. My ideas resulted in a black-and-white short film. And as soon as I\u2019ve made my first film “Une histoire l’amour tendre” I felt like the most dangerous specimen. Of course, I went through the first stage of inspired creative arrogance, though I\u2019m aware what a huge world of endless questions I have to attend to! Most importantly, I intuitively felt that the film requires an immense director’s imagination first. It was not until that I had completed editing that I noticed that I would have shot it differently!<\/p>\r\n
In my point of view, modern film art falls short of problems of the relationship between a man and a woman and their search for happiness. And happiness is like a constantly receding horizon. But it is the pursuance of it which is valuable! The search for happiness is precious!<\/p>\r\n
A good film should be like a dream… I try to confront scenes that are not mutually related. “They have parted and they are together again…”. Such juxtaposition conveys the idea of \u200b\u200b”great desire”! And the audience has to think it up: “Why was it not possible that way?” It’s like a dream…<\/p>\r\n
I would like to make my audience create the idea of \u200b\u200bthe final in their own minds, as Sergei Eisenstein said.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
